
Sri Vijaya Puram Aug 20: A Health Awareness cum Health Screening Camp was organized at Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Institute of Technology (DBRAIT) under the aegis of the Red Ribbon Club (RRC), DBRAIT, in collaboration with the Andaman & Nicobar AIDS Control Society (ANACS) and Lakshya NGO.
The programme was coordinated by Mr. Altamash Mustafa, Nodal Officer, Red Ribbon Club, Associate Dean, DBRAIT, who played a key role in coordinating the event and facilitating the participation of the associated organizations. The initiative was aimed at promoting preventive healthcare, strengthening awareness regarding HIV/AIDS and other health-related concerns, and encouraging students to adopt healthy and responsible lifestyles. The programme is in line with the objectives of the Red Ribbon Club to promote health awareness and community participation among students.
Dr. Jahanara from the Andaman & Nicobar AIDS Control Society (ANACS) served as the Resource Person and interacted with the students on important aspects of HIV/AIDS awareness, prevention, health education and the significance of timely medical guidance.
The health screening component of the camp was conducted by officials of Lakshya NGO, who provided health screening and related support services to the participating students of All first year students at Induction Program . The programme witnessed active participation from the student community and highlighted the importance of awareness, prevention, early screening, counselling and responsible health practices. The initiative also reinforced the collaborative efforts of RRC DBRAIT, ANACS and Lakshya NGO towards creating a healthier and more informed student community.
