Port Blair, Jun 24: The members of State Part Time Education Employees Association (SPTEEA) were “surprised to read the Press release issued by Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray, Member of Parliament, terming their genuine statement and concerns as allegations and that too after maintaining a studied silence ever since the issue of their Press release and the Dharna against him.” Said a press release from the State Part Time Education Employees Association.
SPTEEA were also surprised to note that the MP has chosen to blame the Lt Governor, Director of Education and Congress Party for misguiding them. SPTEEA made it very clear that nobody can misguide them as they are qualified and intelligent enough to understand the meaning of the MP’s letter No. 3O/BPR/MP/ANI/ LG/2012/724 dated 2nd September, 2012 to the Lt Governor, copy enclosed, wherein he has clearly written, ” Therefore, I am to request that any attempt to disrupt the smooth functioning of the prestigious ICDS in the UT with the introduction of Pre-Primary session in the Govt. Primary schools in UT may be discouraged.” Shockingly enough, in a glaring instance of his duplicity, the MP had written the letter after taking up their case for reappointment in the Education Department.
In fact, when they were retrenched on 12th April, 2012, the members of SPTEEA went to the Member of Parliament with a hope to get their grievances resolved and for our re-appointment.
