Sri Vijaya Puram, Aug 12: Social worker and LG Commendation Awardee Ms. VD Leju of Hope Town has expressed gratitude to the A&N Administration and the Forest Department for their prompt response following the tragic incident at Herbettabad No. 2 Waterfall, where two young lives were lost.
In a statement, Ms. Leju said it was heartening to see that the area has now been properly fenced, warning signboards installed and Forest personnel deployed to prevent the recurrence of such tragic incidents.
She also appealed to the youth in the area to refrain from visiting the water source or making reels at the site, stressing that the location is not a tourist destination but a drinking water source serving the local community.
She urged everyone to respect the restrictions and cooperate with the authorities to protect human lives as well as the vital public water resource.
