Sri Vijaya Puram, Aug 11: A review meeting regarding the arrangements for the celebration of Independence Day – 2026 was held at 1100 hrs in the Conference Hall of the District Office, under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman.
The Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman reviewed the preparedness and arrangements being made by various departments for the smooth and successful conduct of the Independence Day celebrations. Department Emphasis was laid on inter-departmental coordination, timely execution of assigned tasks, venue preparedness, security, traffic management, cleanliness, decoration, seating arrangements, public convenience and other logistical requirements.
The concerned departments were directed to maintain close coordination with the District Administration and ensure that all pending works are completed at the earliest. Officers were further advised to remain vigilant and ensure that there are no last-minute gaps in the arrangements.
The Deputy Commissioner called upon all departments to work in a coordinated and proactive manner to ensure the smooth, dignified and successful conduct of the Independence Day 2026 celebrations and to make the event a grand and memorable celebration of the spirit of patriotism and national unity.
The meeting was attended by senior officers and representatives of various departments concerned with the arrangements for Independence Day – 2026.
