Sri Vijaya Puram, Aug. 6: The Deputy Commissioner (South Andaman) and the Superintendent of Police (South Andaman) in collaboration with Integrated Rehabilitation Centre for Addicts (IRCA), Directorate of Sports & Youth Affairs, Directorate of Education and MY Bharat has informed the volleyball lovers that the Quarter Finals, Semi-Finals and the Grand Finale of the DC SP Cup Inter-Village, Men’s and Women’s Volleyball Tournament 2026 will be held on Aug. 7 at Corbyn’s Cove Beach, Sri Vijaya Puram. The Quarter Finals and Semi-Final matches will commence from 9 AM onwards, while the Grand Finale is scheduled to commence at 4 PM.
The Championship, organized under the Nasha Mukt Abhiyan, has witnessed enthusiastic participation from villages and Panchayats across South Andaman District, i.e. Sri Vijaya Puram Tehsil, Ferrargunj Tehsil, Shaheed Dweep, Swaraj Dweep and Little Andaman. The tournament has served as an effective platform for promoting sportsmanship, healthy lifestyles, community engagement, and the message of a drug-free society. The main attraction of the event was the Oath Ceremony, i.e., before each and every match all the participating Team Players took the pledge of Nasha Mukti Yuva for Viksit Bharat.
The event is being organized with the active support of the Integrated Rehabilitation Centre for Addicts (IRCA) as part of the ongoing efforts under the Nasha Mukti Abhiyan to promote awareness against substance abuse through sports and community participation.
The District Administration has invited sports enthusiasts, youth, Panchayat representatives, and members of the public to attend the event and encourage the participating teams. The occasion will not only celebrate sporting excellence but also reinforce the collective commitment towards the vision of “Nasha Se Mukti”, promoting discipline, teamwork, fitness and community spirit.
