Sri Vijaya Puram, July 30: The Fire and Emergency Services Department conducted a hands-on training programme on fire and safety techniques for the staff of Livestock Farm Complex (LFC), Dollygunj on 30th July 2026 at the Animal Husbandry Training Institute (AHTI), Dollygunj.
The training was organised with the objective of enhancing the emergency preparedness and safety awareness of the staff working at the Livestock Farm Complex and the Animal Husbandry Training Institute. During the session, the participants were imparted practical knowledge on various aspects of fire safety, including identification of fire hazards, proper use of different types of fire extinguishers, fire-fighting techniques, emergency evacuation procedures, and basic first response measures to be adopted in the event of a fire incident.
The hands-on nature of the training enabled the staff to gain practical experience in handling fire safety equipment under the guidance of trained personnel from the Fire and Emergency Services Department. Emphasis was also laid on the importance of regular safety drills, maintaining clear evacuation routes, and adopting preventive measures to minimise the risk of fire-related accidents in workplace premises.
The programme is expected to significantly improve the readiness of the staff in effectively responding to fire emergencies and ensuring the safety of both personnel and livestock assets at the Livestock Farm Complex. The Department of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services remains committed to ensuring a safe working environment for its personnel through regular capacity-building and safety training programmes in collaboration with other departments, a press release from Dept. of AH&VS said.
