Port Blair, June 21: The act of bravery of Mohd Arif to save three precious lives despite compound fracture has been praised by people of these Islands. Members of Andaman Sheekha Facebook Group are posting their greetings and good wishes for Mohd. Arif, since morning.
Touched by such bravery Mr. Ashok Arora of LG showroom (Junglighat) and a thorough reader of Andaman Sheekha has handed over a cash reward of Rs. 2000 to Andaman Sheekha today as a token of appreciation, which was later handed over to Mohd. Arif, this evening by Andaman Sheekha Correspondent, Mr. E Arun, who had covered the incident.
Hopefully the Lt. Governor of A & N Islands will also suitably honour brave Mohd Arif for this brave act. Mohd Arif works in a private shop and he had suffered fracture in his left leg while saving people, which has left him virtually with no job till he recovers. Lt. Governor has always been kind to sanction financial relief for needy patients and honouring brave Islanders, hopefully in this case also the heroic act will not go unnoticed by the Lt. Governor.
