Rangat, July 25: On 23.07.2026, at around 8 PM, a violent assault took place at Janakpur-2, Rangat, following a dispute between two persons known to each other. As per the complaint, Mr. Nikhil Sarkar, a private carpenter residing at Hawamahal, Rangat, was allegedly assaulted with a hammer by Rajat Biswas after a dispute over work-related issues. During the incident, the accused is also alleged to have been assisted by his wife. The victim sustained grievous injuries to his head, ear, chest and hand.
Based on the complaint of the victim, a case was registered at Police Station Rangat under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023. Acting swiftly, the police carried out a prompt investigation, collected evidence, and arrested the main accused, Rajat Biswas. Necessary legal action has also been initiated against the co-accused in accordance with law. Further investigation into the case is underway.
