Sri Vijaya Puram, July 24:It is hereby informed to the residents of Campbell Bay that the supply of domestic LPG cylinders to the Island has been affected due to disruption in transportation caused by the prolonged non-availability of privately operated IMDG vessels, causing inconvenience to the consumers.
The Directorate of Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, on behalf of the Andaman & Nicobar Administration, has been continuously coordinating with Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (IOCL) and the operators of privately operated IMDG vessels to restore the transportation of LPG cylinders to Campbell Bay at the earliest. Simultaneously, the Administration has also approached the Andaman & Nicobar Command for extending assistance through the Indian Navy for transportation of LPG cylinders to Campbell Bay, so as to ensure early restoration of LPG supply.
As a result of these efforts, adequate quantities of domestic LPG cylinders are expected to be transported to Campbell Bay through MV Manav Star by 31.07.2026. The Administration is closely monitoring the situation and is making all possible efforts to normalize the supply of LPG cylinders at the earliest.
The residents of Campbell Bay are requested to remain assured that all possible steps are being taken to restore the regular supply of LPG cylinders. The Administration sincerely appreciates the cooperation extended by the residents during this period and remains fully committed to ensuring uninterrupted availability of LPG.
