Sri Vijaya Puram, July 19: Sri Vijaya Puram Municipal Council (SVPMC) has removed a long-pending dismantled fibre boat that had remained submerged near the Sports Complex at Marina Beach for several years. The removal was carried out following the directions of the Secretary, SVPMC, during his inspection conducted as part of the Environment Day Celebration Week.
After obtaining the necessary permission and No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Directorate of IP&T, the operation was executed under the supervision of the Sanitary Inspector, Ward No. 05, with the support of the Area Supervisor, Safai Mitras, and the Council’s Mechanical Section, which provided an excavator.
The Council appreciates the dedication and hard work of the sanitation team in successfully completing this challenging task. The removal of the abandoned boat has significantly enhanced the cleanliness and aesthetic appeal of the Marina Beach area while contributing to the protection of the coastal and marine environment.
