Sri Vijaya Purm, July 19: Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan (VVM) is a National Science Talent Search Examination jointly organized by Vigyan Bharati (VIBHA), the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), and the National Council of Science Museums (NCSM). Students securing the first and second positions at the State Level Camp qualified to participate in the National Level Camp, which was held at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Gandhinagar, Gujarat. Master Ishayu Tawkar, a Class VII student of Navy Children School, Minnie Bay, brought laurels to the Islands by emerging as a National Winner (Himalayan Category). At the East Zonal Level, Master Hardik Chakravarty, a Class VI student of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Lamba Line secured First Position, while Ms. Bidisha Maiti, a Class IX student of Navy Children School, Minnie Bay, secured Third Position.
To honor the outstanding achievements of these students, a felicitation programme was organized in the auditorium of the Science Centre, Sri Vijaya Puram. Dr. Dilip Kumar Jha, Scientist ‘F’ and Officer-in-Charge, Atal Centre for Ocean Science and Technology as the chief guest felicitated the winners by presenting them with trophies and encouraged them to visit various scientific institutions in Sri Vijaya Puram to gain first-hand exposure to ongoing scientific research and technological advancements.
Mrs. Rajeswari Pandey, State Coordinator, and Mr. Debashis Paul, Education Officer, Science Centre, also addressed the gathering and congratulated the winners. Earlier, Dr. Manu Vashistha, State Coordinator (Outreach), welcomed the gathering while Mr. Sameer Ranjan Roy, Member, Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan proposed the vote of thanks.
