
Sri Vijaya Puram, July 17: Prof. (Dr.) D. Surya Prakasa Rao, Vice Chancellor, Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University, Visakhapatnam, on Friday, issued admission allotment letters in B.A.LL.B. (Five-Year Integrated Course) to the 37 successful candidates in the counseling held at Andaman Law College. In his address he said that quality in legal education will lead to worthy advocates, and it brings a vibrant judiciary in the country. Hence, to save democracy and to protect the cherished constitutional values in the country, the beginning should be from the classrooms of law colleges, he underlined.
Father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi himself is an advocate, and most of the freedom fighters during the national movement are advocates, he added. Prof. Surya Prakasa Rao expressed his confidence that the newly formed Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Institute of Higher Learning will rise to the expectations of the people and the authorities.
He assured extending all support to the Andaman Law College from DSNLU Visakhapatnam as a mentor university, he said. He congratulated the successful candidates and appreciated their parents for choosing Law as a choice.
Out of 942 applicants, as many as 350 candidates turned up for counseling along with their parents. Counseling was held as per norms by a committee headed by Dr. C. Balaramalingam, Assistant Professor. A team of faculty members and other staff members assisted the process. Earlier in the morning, Prof. (Dr.) S. Surya Prakash, VC, National Law Institute University, Bhopal, commenced the counseling session. Principal of Andaman Law College Dr. P.V.N. Sarma announced that the academic session for newly admitted students under Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Institute of Higher Learning at ALC will start from 23 July, 2026. Counseling for the remaining seats will be taken up in the next counseling session shortly.
