
Sri Vijaya Puram, July 12: Continuing its sustained offensive against narcotics trafficking, the Anti-Narcotics Police Station (ANPS), CID, achieved another success by apprehending one person and seizing 1.060 Kg of Ganja during a late-night operation conducted in the intervening night of 10.07.2026 & 11.07.2026 near the parking area of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Colony, Haddo, Sri Vijaya Puram.
Acting on specific intelligence inputs, a dedicated police team from the Anti-Narcotics Police Station, led by Inspector K. Binoj, SHO, Anti-Narcotics Police Station, carried out the operation. The team included SI Manoj Lal, SI Deva Raju, ASI Surya Narayan, HC(SG)/ Ratan Das, HC(SG)/ Tamil Selvam, PC/ Basarat Ali and PC(D)/ Samir Kr. Dey.
During the late-night operation, the ANPS team-maintained surveillance at the identified location and intercepted one Arif Hosen Sekh S/o Mr. Lokman Sekh (41) yr Private Labour presently residing at a rented house at Saheed Bhagat Singh Colony, Haddo, who was carrying a yellow-coloured polythene bag kept in a striped plastic carry bag. After conducting the due process of law, search in accordance with the prescribed legal procedure was done and 1.060 Kg of Ganja, concealed inside, was recovered from his possession. The contraband was seized and the accused was arrested on the spot after observing all codal formalities under the NDPS Act, 1985. Further investigation is in progress to identify the supply chain.
The raid was conducted by the Anti-Narcotics Police Station team led by Inspector K. Binoj, SHO, Anti-Narcotics Police Station, under the supervision of Mr. Sunil Panchal, DANIPS, Dy.SP (Narcotics).
