Sri Vijaya Puram, July 10:The Sri Vijaya Puram Municipal Council (SVPMC) has informed the general public that, pursuant to the engagement of an Excavator under the sanitation programme for cleaning the sea shore near the Burning Ghat, Prem Nagar, Ward No. 7, the Council shall undertake an intensive cleaning drive for removal of accumulated silt, waste and other debris from the shoreline.
The cleaning operation shall be carried out depending upon the sea tidal movements so as to ensure safe and effective execution of the work.
In this connection, all residents of the adjoining areas have been requested and instructed to safeguard their belongings and remove any movable materials from the work site to prevent any damage during the cleaning operation. This includes unauthorised or illegal sheds, temporary structures and other obstructions, which are contributing to the accumulation of waste along the shoreline.
Further, all fishing boat owners and commercial boat operators are directed to shift and anchor their boats at least 20 metres away from the shoreline before commencement of the cleaning work. This is necessary to facilitate the smooth movement and operation of the excavator and to enable completion of the cleaning work without obstruction.
The cooperation of all residents, fishermen and stakeholders is earnestly solicited in the interest of public health, sanitation and environmental protection.
In the event of failure to comply with the above instructions, the Sri Vijaya Puram Municipal Council (SVPMC) shall not be held responsible for any collateral damage to boats, structures, belongings or any other property arising during the course of the cleaning operation.
