Port Blair, Jun 19: Mr. K. Venkat Ram Babu, General Secretary, Jan Kranti Party, in his letter addressed to the Lt. Governor has requested him to order for reframing the Recruitment Rules for MULTI TAKING STAFF-2013 ( Group – ‘C’ Non- Gazetted, Non- Ministerial ) under Andaman and Nicobar Administration.
Mr. Venkat through his letter has informed the Lt. Governor that the Recruitment Rules for MULTI TAKING STAFF-2013 ( Group – ‘C’ Non- Gazetted, Non- Ministerial ) under Andaman and Nicobar Administration was published in the Daily Telegrams on 12th of June 2013. He further added that the recruitment rules are a move to deprive the educated unemployed youth. Mr. Venkat stating the some of the points from the recruitment rules said that the post is a kind of twenty two in one post according to the current recruitment rules.
Further in his letter he has mentioned the responsibilities stated under the recruitment rules for the posts like the worker should be adept in computer operation, driving of four wheeler, assist in preparation of food for hosteller, serving of food, cleaning of utensils, maintenance of gardens and lawns, assist lab technicians, maintenance of tools and materials, maintenance of Library assets books and journals, watch and ward duties, opening and closing of classrooms, cleaning of office rooms, fixtures, dusting of furniture’s, cleaning of toilets and maintenance of hygienic condition in the campus and assist in conduction of sports and games.
Mr. Venkat further wrote that the authorities after stating the following works to fill any of the loop holes have also added another line in print “Any other works assigned by the authority / HOD of the concerned department.”
Mr. Venkat demanding for a fresh draft notification for the post of Multi-Tasking staff added that “It is surprising that the authority expects a computer operator or a car driver or a lab assistant to clean toilet and sweep the rooms. It is not expected to give a crude deal to an unemployed youth.”
