Sri Vijaya Puram, July 10: A sensitization programme on the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) at Workplace was successfully conducted at GB Pant Hospital, Sri Vijaya Puram yesterday for Doctors, Nursing Officers, Paramedical Staff and other Hospital employees.
The programme was organised by ‘Rights for All’ NGO in association with the Directorate of Health Services with the objective of creating awareness about the provisions of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 and promoting a safe, respectful and conducive working environment for all employees. The programme was inaugurated by the Director of Health Services and the Medical Superintendent, GB Pant Hospital. They emphasized the importance of maintaining a workplace free from sexual harassment and fostering a culture of dignity, mutual respect and equality.
The sensitization session was conducted by Ms. Rubina Siddiqui, POSH Consultant & Senior Subject Expert who delivered an informative presentation on various aspects of workplace sexual harassment. She explained the different forms of sexual harassment, preventive measures, the rights and responsibilities of employees, the complaint redressal mechanism, and the important role of the Internal Committee in addressing complaints under the Act.
The session was highly interactive and featured an engaging question-and-answer segment, enabling participants to clarify their doubts and gain a better understanding of the legal provisions and practical aspects of implementing the POSH Act in the workplace.
