Sri Vijaya Puram, July 2:As part of Drug Awareness Week and the nationwide campaign “Nasha Mukt Bharat, Khushhaal Bharat”, South Andaman Police has been conducting a series of awareness programmes across the district while continuing strict enforcement against drug offenders.
Police Stations under South Andaman District organized painting competitions, bike rallies, volleyball tournaments, public awareness campaigns at markets and Gram Panchayats, and community interaction programmes at Hut Bay, Haddo, Wimberlygunj, Chouldari, Collinpur, R.K. Pur and RB Nagar. These initiatives reached hundreds of students, youths and general public, spreading awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse, encouraging participation in sports and healthy activities, distributing awareness materials, administering anti-drug pledges, and appealing for public support in making society drug-free.

A case has been registered under Section 20(b)(ii)(A) of the NDPS Act, 1985 and further investigation is in progress.
South Andaman Police reiterates its zero-tolerance policy against drugs and appeals to citizens to actively support the fight against drug trafficking by sharing information through Police Emergency 112, MANAS Toll-Free Helpline 1933, WhatsApp No. 9531856080 or nearest Police Station.
