
Sri Vijaya Puram, June 22: As part of World Hydrography Day 2026 celebrations, NCC cadets Andaman & Nicobar NCC, visited the Hydrographic Survey Unit (HSU), Sri Vijaya Puram, to gain insight into hydrographic surveying and its importance in maritime safety and environmental protection.
During the visit, cadets were introduced to modern hydrographic survey equipment, digital charting techniques, and the role of the Hydrographic Survey Unit in supporting safe navigation. Interactive presentations and demonstrations provided the cadets with firsthand exposure to naval hydrographic operations and maritime career opportunities The visit enhanced the cadets’ understanding of maritime affairs and highlighted the significance of hydrography in national maritime development.
Lt Cdr Reyaz Farooq, Commanding Officer of 1 AN Naval Unit NCC, expressed his gratitude to the Naval Component Commander Cmde Nitesh Garg and Lt Cdr Bhaskar Chakraborty, Officer In-charge HSU for providing this valuable learning opportunity to the NCC cadets of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. The visit concluded with a vote of thanks, making the World Hydrography Day activity both informative and inspiring for the participating cadets.
