Sri Vijaya Puram, June 18: The Directorate of Disaster Management, A&N Administration, has issued a weather advisory based on information received from the India Meteorological Department (IMD), warning of adverse weather conditions over the Andaman & Nicobar Islands during the coming days.
According to the forecast, thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds reaching 40-50 kmph and lightning are likely to occur at one or two places over the Andaman & Nicobar Islands from 19 June to 24 June 2026.
Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the North Andaman Sea and along and off the Andaman Coast on 19 June 2026.
The IMD has also issued a Farmer Warning from 19 June to 22 June 2026, indicating the likelihood of thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds of 40-50 kmph at isolated places over the Islands.
The general public, fishermen, farmers, and tourists are advised to remain vigilant and follow official advisories issued by the authorities. The outlook for the subsequent two days indicates little change in weather conditions.
