Sri Vijaya Puram, June 9: An awareness programme on “Khet Bachao Abhiyan” is organised today on 08.06.2026 in Guptapara village in association with KVK South Andaman, State Agriculture Department, ATMA and at Gram Panchayat Guptapara village.
Dr Raj Narayan briefed the importance of good Agricultural practices in Khet Bachao. He emphasised on reduction of chemical in phase manner and replacing the chemicals with organic manures and pesticides as well as selection of field, Crop, varieties and management of soil, Crop, disease, pests, etc. to save the khet.
Dr Ramakrishnan spoked on importance of organic and natural farming, Dr Arkadev Mukhopadyay emphasised on demerits of chemical farming and merits of balanced use of fertilizers in crop cultivation, Mr Mohit spoked on eco-friendly management of disease an pests in crops. Dr Prabhu P, Dr (Ms) Chaitranshi, Dr (Ms) Pooja Kappor, Dr Jakariya have also actively participated and involved and technical discussion held with the farmers and stakeholders.
