Diglipur, June 5: A review meeting under the chairmanship of Shri Sushant Padha, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, North & Middle Andaman District, was held today in the Conference Hall of the GPOA Building, Diglipur. The meeting was attended by Heads of Offices of various Departments and members of the Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) under Diglipur Tehsil.
The meeting was organized with a special focus on strengthening coordination and fostering confidence-building measures between the Panchayati Raj Institutions and various departments of the District Administration. The initiative aimed at promoting a collaborative approach towards governance, improving service delivery, and ensuring effective resolution of public concerns through regular engagement and mutual cooperation.
During the meeting, a comprehensive review of ongoing developmental activities and the implementation of various Government schemes and programmes in the Tehsil was undertaken. The progress achieved by different departments was reviewed, and the need for close coordination among line departments and PRI representatives was emphasized to ensure the timely execution of developmental works and efficient delivery of public services.
Various issues relating to infrastructure development, public welfare, civic amenities, and other matters of local importance were discussed in detail. The Deputy Commissioner stressed the importance of prompt redressal of public grievances and directed the concerned departments to take necessary action for resolving issues raised during the meeting.
The PRI members apprised the Chair of various local issues and developmental requirements in their respective areas. The Deputy Commissioner assured that all genuine concerns would be examined on priority and the concerned departmental officers were instructed to take appropriate action in accordance with the prevailing rules and guidelines.
Emphasizing the importance of a strong partnership between elected PRI representatives and Government departments, the Deputy Commissioner, N&MA encouraged regular interaction, transparency in functioning, and proactive communication to build public confidence and improve the effectiveness of developmental initiatives at the grassroots level. He also emphasized the importance of regular field visits by departmental officers, effective monitoring of ongoing projects, and proactive engagement with the public to ensure that the benefits of Government programmes reach every eligible beneficiary.
The meeting concluded with a collective commitment from all stakeholders to work in close coordination and mutual trust for the overall development and welfare of the people of Diglipur Tehsil.
