Sri Vijaya Puram, May 27: The State Control Room has issued a fresh weather warning for the Andaman & Nicobar Islands forecasting thunderstorm activities, gusty winds and heavy rainfall over the next few days.
As per the IMD forecast, Heavy rainfall ranging between 07-11 cm along with thunderstorm and gusty wind is likely to occur at isolated places on May 29 and 30.
The forecast stated that thunderstorm with gusty wind speed of 40-50 kmph and lightning is likely to continue at isolated places on June 1 and 2.
A fishermen warning has also been issued advising fishermen not to venture into the sea along and off Andaman & Nicobar coast from May 28 to May 31 due to squally weather conditions with wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph and gusting up to 60 kmph.
Boat operators have been advised to ply with utmost vigilance and recreational activities at sea should be undertaken with due care.
Farmers have also been advised to take necessary precautions in view of the forecast weather conditions.
The outlook for the subsequent two days indicates little change in weather conditions over the region.
