Port Blair, June 10: A delegation of Govt. Employees Federation, A&N Islands led by its President, Shri P Kannan met Mrs. Rina Ray, Principal Secretary (Health), A&N Administration in her chamber today on June 10 and submitted a memorandum of charter of demands pertaining to Health Department. The memorandum comprise demands for grant of “Patient Care Allowance” and “Hospital Patient Care Allowance” at double rate to all eligible staff from 01.09.2009 and promotion of Field Workers of NMEP/ NFCP into the post of Surveillance Worker/ Head Worker of Health Department.
Grant of Higher Scale of Pay of Rs. 4000-6000 (Pre-revised) to “Cooks” of Health Dept. at Par with their counterpart working in APWD and Re-structure of cadre of “Ophthalmic Assistant” and “Senior Ophthalmic Assistant”, the memorandum included.
The Principal Secretary (Health) discussed the demands in detail and assured the delegation to take appropriate action to fulfill the demands. Finally, on behalf of the delegation, Shri P Kannan has expressed his gratitude to Principal Secretary (Health) for the assurance, a communication said.
