
Sri Vijaya Puram, May 15: Composite Regional Centre for Skill Development, Rehabilitation & Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (CRC), Andaman & Nicobar Islands organised a Summer Camp on Models & Teaching Learning Materials (TLMs) Exhibition in collaboration with trainee teachers of Tagore Government College of Education to promote inclusive education and inclusive society.
The exhibition was inaugurated with traditional lamp lighting ceremony. Mrs. Sumithamol. S, Director, CRC, A & N Islands welcomed the parents, children and trainee teachers and appreciated the sincere efforts of the students in preparing creative and need-based models and TLM materials for the exhibition. She expressed happiness over the overwhelming response received for the programme and highlighted the importance of innovative teaching methods in inclusive education.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from scores of parents, caregivers and Divyang children who visited the exhibition and interacted with the 42 trainee teachers, accompanied by their faculty members Dr Afreen & Mr. Ravi, to understand the usefulness of the innovative models and TLMs prepared for enhancing conceptual understanding and learning among children with special needs.
During the exhibition, the trainee teachers explained the utility of the models and TLMs in academics, conceptual learning and daily living skills for Divyang children. The programme served as an interactive learning platform for students, parents and rehabilitation professionals.
The exhibition was organized by the Special Education Department of CRC, A & N Islands. Mr. Kishore Kumar Saha, Assistant Professor, CRC, A & N Islands along with his team coordinated the entire exhibition successfully and ensured smooth conduct of the programme.
Later in the day, prizes were distributed to the winners under First, Second and Third categories, while all other participants were presented with gifts as a token of appreciation for their active participation and contribution towards promoting inclusive education.
