On the joyous occasion of Sikkim Foundation Day, I extend my heartfelt greetings and best wishes to the people of Sikkim, especially to members of the Sikkimese community residing in the A & N Islands.
Blessed with majestic mountains, serene landscapes and a vibrant cultural heritage, Sikkim is a shining example of peace, harmony and sustainable progress. Since joining the Indian Union in 1975, the State has achieved remarkable progress in areas such as organic farming, environmental conservation, tourism, education and inclusive socio-economic development. Sikkim’s journey reflects a perfect blend of tradition, ecological consciousness and modern aspirations.
This year’s celebration of Sikkim Foundation Day is a reminder of the enduring spirit of Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat, which celebrates the unity of our nation through the diversity and achievements of its States and people. Sikkim’s commitment towards preserving its natural heritage while pursuing development continues to inspire the entire nation and highlights the importance of balanced and sustainable growth.
On this special occasion, may the people of Sikkim continue to prosper in peace, progress and happiness. I am confident that the State will continue to contribute significantly towards the vision of a strong, inclusive and self-reliant India.
