Sri Vijaya Puram, May 07: Mr. Venkateswar Rao, Pradhan Gram Panchayat Shivapuram, along with Mr. R. Madhavan, Up Adhyaksh North & Middle Andaman, and Mr. Ajay Kumar, PRI member, met the Deputy Commissioner, North & Middle Andaman, today on 07 May 2026.
During the meeting, Mr. Venkateswar Rao highlighted several burning issues related to Gram Panchayat Shivapuram, especially the long-pending issue of the TV Kullam Bridge, which has remained closed for the last 7 years. Due to the prolonged closure of the bridge, the general public has been facing serious inconvenience and growing resentment.
The matter was strongly placed before the Deputy Commissioner, and the delegation requested that the general public should be informed about the present status of the bridge project, including whether the estimate, DPR and other official formalities have been completed or not.
The Deputy Commissioner assured that the concerned department would provide proper updates regarding the present status of the bridge for the information of the general public.
The Panchayat representatives expressed hope that necessary steps would now be taken in the interest of the people.
