Port Blair, Feb 24: Central Agricultural Research Institute, Port Blair an ICAR Unit for A & N Islands, is organizing a National Seminar on “Technologies for Improving Productivity of Spices and Plantation Crops”, in collaboration with Directorate of Arecanut & Spices Development (DASD), Calicut and High Value Agriculture Development Agency (HVADA), Directorate of Agriculture, A & N Islands from 27th to 28th February, 2012.
The seminar will be inaugurated at 10.00 A.M. in the conference hall of CARI on 27th February, 2012. Dr. P. Murugesa Boopathy, Vice Chancellor, TNAU, Coimbatore will be the Chief Guest and Mr. A.S. Dagar, Secretary (Agriculture), A & N Administration, A & N Islands and Dr. V.A. Parthasarathy, Former Director, IISR, Calicut, Kerala will be Guests of Honour. Dr. S.K. Ambast, Director, CARI will preside over the function. Directors of various ICAR Institutes, Line Departments of A & N Islands, Scientists from Mainland and progressive farmers will be participating in the two days seminar.
