Rangat, April 27: Highlighting a critical healthcare infrastructure issue, Pramukh of Panchayat Samiti Rangat, Ms. Sita Majhi, along with Pradhan of Dasrathpur, Smt. Rupa Rani Halder, and Ms. Madhura Ekka of Sabari Panchayat, met the Director of Health Services recently and raised serious concerns regarding the malfunctioning generator at the Community Health Centre (CHC) Rangat.
The delegation emphasized that the non-functional standby generator is severely affecting the hospital’s ability to provide uninterrupted medical services, especially during frequent and prolonged power outages being experienced in the region. They pointed out that CHC Rangat caters to a vast population and serves as a primary healthcare lifeline for emergency medical care.
The representatives further explained that the absence of a reliable power backup poses significant risks, including disruption in emergency procedures, inability to maintain cold chain for medicines, and threats to patient safety, particularly for critically ill patients. They urged the authorities to take immediate steps for repair, maintenance, or complete replacement of the generator to avoid any potential medical emergencies or loss of life.
Earlier, a formal letter was also submitted by the Panchayat Samiti Rangat to the Director of Health Services, requesting urgent intervention in resolving the issue and ensuring proper functioning of essential infrastructure at CHC Rangat.
