
Sri Vijaya Puram, Apr 22: A Mental Health Awareness Programme was collaboratively organized by the State Child Protection Society (SCPS), partnership with Pankh NGO at RGT Public School with the objective of promoting awareness on mental health among children and creating a supportive environment for their emotional well-being.
The programme aimed to sensitize children, teachers, and the community about the importance of mental health, early identification of stress, and the need for open communication, thereby encouraging children to express their feelings and develop a positive mindset.
Director(Social Welfare) conveyed his message emphasizing the importance of mental well-being among children and motivated the organizing team to continue such initiatives across schools and Child Care Institutions.
A speech competition was organized in which students actively participated and expressed their views on mental health. Prizes along with consolation prizes were distributed to appreciate and encourage their participation.
Nodal Officer, Mission Vatsalya Scheme, highlighted the importance of creating a safe and supportive environment within school campuses so that children feel comfortable sharing their concerns and seek guidance when needed. The Founder of Pankh NGO distributed prizes and encouraged the students by sharing the importance of self-care, emotional strength, and seeking help without hesitation.
Probation Officer, guided the students on stress management, maintaining a positive mindset, and the importance of communication and also focused in various schemes of the department Programme Manager, SCPS, briefly mentioned that similar programmes will continue to be organized in schools and Child Care Institutions.
The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by the Principal of RGT Public School, expressing gratitude to all dignitaries and participants for their support and cooperation.
