Sri Vijaya Puram, Apr 21: A Mega Beach Cleaning Drive was successfully organized at Ramnagar Beach on Saturday, 18th April 2026 by the Gram Panchayat Ramnagar in association with various line departments and with active participation from the local community. The initiative witnessed collaboration from Forest Department (Kalighat Range), Wildlife Division Kalara, Kalighat Police, ICDS Diglipur, PRI, APWD, GSS Ramnagar, and other stakeholders.
The programme was inaugurated by M. Rajendra Kumar, (Block Development Officer Diglipur) who addressed the gathering and emphasized the importance of cleanliness and environmental protection under the Swachh Bharat Mission. He lauded the efforts of the Panchayat Pradhan for taking proactive steps towards promoting Ramnagar Beach while ensuring overall village development.
More than 100 participants, including officials, staff, and villagers, actively took part in the drive. The collective effort led to significant cleaning of the beach area and raised awareness among the public about maintaining cleanliness and preserving the natural beauty of the coastline.
The Gram Panchayat Ramnagar expressed gratitude to all departments and participants for their wholehearted support and reiterated its commitment to organizing such initiatives in the future for a cleaner and greener environment.
