Sri Vijaya Puram, Apr. 16: The Department of Tourism, A&N Administration has invited residents and tourists to participate in the Island Food Festival 2026, which will be held from April 17 to 19 at ITF Ground, Sri Vijaya Puram, from 5 pm to 9 pm daily. The festival aims to showcase the rich culinary heritage and cultural diversity of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands while promoting local talent and supporting small businesses. Stalls at the festival will be hosted by local vendors, Self Help Groups (SHGs) and various cultural associations.
Visitors will get an opportunity to savour a wide variety of authentic cuisines presented by cultural groups such as Kannada Sangh, Bhojpuri Samaj, Moplas, Ranchi Association and Nicobari groups, reflecting the spirit of unity in diversity.
Apart from food stalls, a series of cultural programmes has been scheduled during the three-day event. The programmes will include dance and music performances by local artists as well as awareness skits by A&N Police aimed at spreading public awareness.
The Tourism Department has invited people from all walks of life to attend the festival and experience the vibrant flavours and traditions of island communities.
