Sri Vijaya Puram, Apr 15: On 13/04/2026, Smti. Nilima Toppo W/o Shri Vikram Baraick R/o Karmatang No. 10, reported at Police Station Mayabunder regarding the missing and suspected kidnapping of her minor daughter, Geetika, aged about 1 year and 6 months.
As per the complaint, on the same day at around 1630 hrs, she had returned from her mother’s house along with her two daughters. Due to intense heat, they rested under a tree while the younger child was playing behind them. After a short while, the child was found missing. Despite immediate efforts to trace her in the nearby area, the child could not be located, prompting her to approach the Police.
Acting with utmost urgency, a case was promptly registered at PS Mayabunder, and a dedicated police team comprising SI B. Santosh Kumar HC Aroti Das, HC(SG) S.N Pathak, PCs Sabraj Mohammad, Naw Pasha, Sashi Kumar Das, Sujoy Mazumder, HGV Parthiv Kumar, under the supervision of Inspector R.K. Mazumder, I/c PS Mayabunder was constituted. The team swiftly launched an intensive search operation in and around Karmatang No. 10 and adjoining areas.
Owing to the prompt, coordinated and tireless efforts of the police team, the missing child was successfully traced within just 02 hours. After completing all necessary formalities, the child was safely reunited with her mother.
This successful operation highlights the alertness, swift response and unwavering commitment of N&MA District Police towards ensuring the safety and security of citizens.
