
Mayabunder, Apr. 5: As part of the ongoing 100 Days Campaign under TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan 2.0, a series of Ayushman Aarogya Shivir and awareness programmes were conducted across Long Island, Rangat vegetable market and Baratang, significantly boosting tuberculosis screening and public awareness.
On March 30, a Health Camp was organized at the Plot Area and Community Hall of Gram Panchayat Long Island. During the camp, a total of 100 chest X-ray and NCD screenings were carried out, and 25 sputum samples were collected for further examination. To enhance community awareness, a Nukkad Natak (street play) was performed, effectively conveying messages on TB prevention, early detection, and treatment. Shri Kamraj, Pradhan, GP Long Island was also present.
Continuing the Abhiyaan, another Ayushman Aarogya Shivir was held on March 31 at the Community Hall of Adazig PHC, Baratang. A total of 36 X-ray screenings were conducted, out of which 15 symptomatic individuals were identified and their sputum samples were sent for further examination.
A Jan Bhagidari (community participation) programme was also organized to engage the general public and raise awareness about tuberculosis. Dr. Christina Rossity, District TB Officer, N&MA highlighted about 100 Days Campaign under TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan 2.0.
