Sri Vijaya Puram, Apr. 01: The Andaman & Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee President Mr. Rangalal Halder, has strongly urged the Executive Director (Projects), NHIDCL, Sri Vijayapuram, to take immediate action for the repair and maintenance of the NH-4 road stretch between Kishorinagar Junction to Kalara Junction, North Andaman.
In his letter, Mr. Halder has expressed deep concern over the deplorable condition of this vital road, which has deteriorated rapidly within just six months of its previous repair. The entire stretch is presently riddled with numerous potholes, uneven surfaces, and damaged patches, making it extremely unsafe and inconvenient for commuters.
He highlighted that the situation becomes even more alarming during rainfall, as water accumulates in potholes, significantly increasing the risk of accidents. Daily commuters, including school children, patients, and transport operators, are facing severe hardship due to the poor road condition.
He emphasized that this road serves as a crucial lifeline for the local population, facilitating connectivity, transportation of essential goods, and emergency services. The Current condition not only disrupts smooth traffic movement but also leads to frequent vehicle breakdowns and financial burden on the public.
Mr. Halder has further appealed to the concerned authorities to initiate immediate and effective measures for proper repair, restoration, and long-term maintenance of the said road stretch. He stressed that durable and high-quality repair work is essential to ensure public safety and prevent further deterioration.
