Sri Vijaya Puram, Mar 22: The Women and Child Control Room are functioning under the Directorate of Social Welfare at VIP Road in which dedicated helplines (For Women Helpline – dial 181 and for Child Helpline – dial 1098) functions as 24/7×365 days emergency response center for women and children experiencing distress or violence.
The Women Helpline-181 organized Swachhata Pakhwada Campaign across various Panchayats ( Nayasher Tsunami Shelter Community Hall, Calicut Panchayat Community Hall and Namunghar Community Hall) in coordination with District Hub for Empowerment of Women from 1st to 15th March, 2026 with the objective on promoting hygiene, sanitation and community participation in maintaining clean environment.
The campaign witnessed active participation from local residents, Women Self Help Groups, Panchayats members and community volunteers. The practical demonstration has been emphasized on waste segregation, elimination of Single use Plastic. The awareness fosters public participation in sanitation, hygiene and environmental care across their surrounding and working areas. To ensure greener garbage free working area pledge has been taken among the office staff of Women and Child Development Control Room at VIP Road.
In addition, an informative session also highlighted to promote best practices on hygiene and sanitation.
