
Sri Vijaya Puram, Mar 01: The District Administration, South Andaman in its continuous efforts to preserve community spaces and to ensure lawful use of public property has been keeping strict vigil and monitoring and government land is being restored back from encroachment by unscrupulous elements in past few days in South Andaman District.
Pursuant to the ongoing drive, eviction operations were carried out in the areas of Brookshabad, School Line and Austinabad villages. During the operation, Revenue officials successfully removed various encroachments, including fencing and six unauthorized structures, comprising four temporary structures and two temporary structures under construction. Consequently, an area measuring approximately 2000 square meters of Government Revenue land has been reclaimed and restored to Government Khata.
The Administration has reiterated its zero-tolerance approach towards encroachments and emphasized that any unauthorized occupation of Government land will attract stringent legal action under the relevant provisions of law.
Residents are strongly urged to refrain from unauthorized occupations, as stringent legal action will be taken against violators. To strengthen public participation in this initiative, the District Administration, South Andaman has provided multiple avenues for reporting encroachments or illegal constructions.
