Sri Vijaya Puram, Feb. 25: Mr. N. K. Udhaya Kumar, State General Secretary (Organisation) of Hindu Rashtra Shakti and former Chairperson of SVPMC, has submitted a representation to the Lt. Governor and the Chief Secretary of the Andaman and Nicobar Administration recommending Bravery Awards and the Lt. Governor’s Commendation for personnel involved in the recent helicopter emergency incident in the Islands.
In his letter, Mr. Udhaya Kumar expressed deep appreciation for the extraordinary courage displayed during the emergency sea landing of a helicopter operated by Pawan Hans on 24.02.2026. He stated that during the critical situation, the personnel concerned responded with exceptional bravery, presence of mind and selfless commitment, contributing significantly to the rescue of seven passengers and preventing a major tragedy.
He specifically recommended recognition for the following personnel:
1. Mr. Saw Thomas – Forest DRM
2. Mr. Saw Manashe – Forest DRM
3. Mr. Saw Sakari – Forest DRM
4. Mr. Karthick – PMF Staff
Describing their actions as a reflection of the highest traditions of public service, Mr. Udhaya Kumar urged the Administration to consider conferment of an appropriate Bravery Award and the Lt. Governor’s Commendation Certificate in recognition of their exemplary service to humanity.
The representation has been submitted for kind consideration and necessary action by the Administration.
