Sri Vijaya Puram, Feb 24: The Andaman & Nicobar AIDS Control Society (ANACS), under the Department of Health, A&N Administration, is organizing the flag-off ceremony of its Information, Education and Communication (IEC) Van equipped with a backlit glow sign board displaying key messages on HIV & AIDS awareness.
The programme is scheduled to be held on 25th February 2026 at 10:00 a.m. in front of the National Memorial Cellular Jail.
On this occasion, the Annual Newsletter 2024-25 of ANACS will also be formally released. The newsletter highlights year-round programmes, awareness activities, and key achievements of ANACS in the prevention, control, care, and treatment of HIV & AIDS.
The IEC Van campaign aims to disseminate awareness messages on:
- Modes of HIV transmission and prevention
- Importance of HIV testing
- Treatment and care services available for People Living with HIV (PLHIV)
The van will display messages through a backlit glow sign board and will disseminate audio awareness messages through a public address system along the designated routes.
Ms. Vandana Rao, IAS, Secretary (Heaith), A&N Administration, has kindly consented to be the Chief Guest for the flag-off ceremony.
