
Sri Vijaya Puram, Feb 24: Jagoran – the Bengali Welfare Association – celebrated International Mother Language Day with great enthusiasm and cultural fervour at the Chouldari Community Hall on 21st February 2026.
The programme was graced by Mr. Prakash Adhikari, Adhyaksh, Zilla Parishad, South Andaman, as the Chief Guest. Mrs. Tapasi Saha, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat, Chouldari, attended the function as the Guest of Honour. Both dignitaries highlighted the importance of preserving mother tongues and promoting linguistic diversity as a vital part of cultural identity and national unity.
The celebration featured vibrant cultural performances presented by the students of Rabindra Bangla Vidyalaya. The students captivated the audience with songs, recitations, and cultural presentations reflecting the richness of the Bengali language and heritage.
The event witnessed active participation and wholehearted support from the villagers, members of the Gram Panchayat, and other well-wishers, making the programme a grand success.
