Sri Vijaya Puram, Feb 22: Mr. Manojit Halder, Pradhan of Gram Panchayat Harinagar, met Dr. Chandra Bhusan Kumar the Chief Secretary of the Andaman and Nicobar Administration recently to discuss several important pending developmental issues concerning the area.
During the meeting, the Pradhan requested early approval for the construction of the rural road from the residence of Joshna Das to the house of late CM Adhikary, which is currently pending at the Secretariat level. He also followed up on the construction of a dam at Korang Nallah, informing that the survey process has already been completed and urging for early execution of the project.
Further, Mr. Halder demanded the upgradation of Govt Secondary School Pinakinagar (English Medium) to a Senior Secondary School, highlighting that this was a prior assurance given by the former Secretary Education but has not yet been implemented.
The Pradhan also raised serious concerns regarding the construction of a toilet-cum-bus stand near Billyground Bazaar and the completion of other toilet blocks under NHIDCL, stating that earlier instructions had not resulted in concrete progress. According to a press release, the Chief Secretary gave a positive response and reportedly assured Mr. Halder that necessary steps would be taken and that all the raised issues would be resolved at the earliest in the interest of public welfare and infrastructure development.
