
Sri Vijaya Puram, Feb 16: As part of the celebrations leading to the 396th Birth Anniversary (Janmotsav) of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, scheduled to be held on 19th February 2026, a series of meaningful events were organised at Sri Vijaya Puram under the supervision and monitoring of MY Bharat, Sri Vijaya Puram. All associated organisations extended their valuable support and cooperation in successfully organising the programmes.
On 15th February 2026, a magnificent Sand Art Event was organised at the iconic and crowded Corbyn’s Cove Beach, Sri Vijaya Puram, drawing thousands of residents and tourists who witnessed the artistic tribute. Renowned artists of Sri Vijaya Puram created an impressive sand sculpture of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, paying homage to the legendary warrior king and spreading awareness about his teachings of unity, solidarity, courage and nation building. The event highlighted how the ideals of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj continue to inspire present generations and remain highly relevant for strengthening national integration and collective responsibility in modern India.
On the occasion, Swamy Suddhananda Saraswati, President, Chinmaya Mission, graced the event as Chief Guest, while Mr. Ravindar Rao, Guruji, Art of Living, attended as Guest of Honour. Mrs. Manju Rao, Principal, TGCE, was also present to grace the occasion and appreciated the initiative taken to educate youth about the values of unity and nationalism.
Continuing the commemorative events, a Blood Donation Camp was organised on 16th February 2026 at the Auditorium of Maharashtra Mandal, Sri Vijaya Puram. The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from youth volunteers, and 20 units of blood were donated as a noble tribute to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The initiative symbolised the spirit of sacrifice, service and social responsibility inspired by the great leader.
On the occasion, Mrs. Sruti Singh, Branch Head, Union Bank of India, graced the programme as Chief Guest. Among those present were Mr. Aziz Ul Rahman of Atal Foundation, Dr. D. Divya, Junior Resident, Department of Pathology, Mrs. Palwinder Kaur, Counsellor, Blood Bank, Mr. Sanjay Kumar, President, Blood Donation Association, Mr. Sandeep Singh, President, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Foundation, Mr. Chandan Kumar, Secretary, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Foundation, Mr. Sunil Kumar Saini of TGCE, Mr. Diptendu Das Gupta of Shaheedon ki Awaaz, Dr. Sunita Patil, Secretary, Andaman Mahila Mandal, Mr. Gorakh Nath Patil of Maharashtra Mandal, and Mrs. Sangeeta Jadhav of Sanskar Restaurant.
Earlier, Mr. Sukha Ranjan Biswas, Joint Director, MY Bharat, briefed the gathering about the significance of the celebrations and emphasised the importance of inculcating the teachings of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj among youth for building a united and progressive nation. The programme was coordinated by Mr. Gopal Ch. Biswas of MY Bharat, who also proposed the vote of thanks.
The organisers expressed heartfelt gratitude to all dignitaries, donors, volunteers and supporting organisations for making the events meaningful and successful. The celebrations will culminate on 19th February 2026 at Flag Point, Sri Vijaya Puram, with a grand concluding programme.
