Port Blair, May 24: Summer Camp with a theme ‘SUN TIME-FUN TIME’ was organised for the children of Birchgunj Military Station under the aegis of Family Welfare Centre, Army Birchgunj from 13 May to 21 May 2013. The camp was attended by 45 children and it provided an opportunity and a platform for them to utilize their energies and enhance their creative skills thereby improving their personalities. Children were also sensitized about environmental issues and how they could contribute towards its conservation. A workshop was conducted for making useful items from waste products at home, T-shirt painting, gift wrapping, greeting cards etc. A colorful cultural programme was presented by the children followed by a party which was highly appreciated by everyone present. Mrs Shalini Thakur President, Army Wives Welfare Association gave away prizes to the children for their outstanding performances during the creative workshop.
