Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan 23: The UT Capital Level National Voters’ Day Padyatra, 2026 will be organised at Sri Vijaya Puram, Andaman and Nicobar Islands UT, on 25th January 2026 (Sunday) under the aegis of MY Bharat, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India. The programme is being conducted with the objective of promoting voter awareness, ethical electoral participation, and inclusion of first-time voters.
National Voters’ Day is observed annually on 25th January to commemorate the foundation day of the Election Commission of India. The observance aims to encourage citizens, particularly youth and first-time voters, to actively participate in the democratic process and to reinforce the importance of informed and ethical voting.
The programme at Sri Vijaya Puram, Andaman and Nicobar Islands UT, will commence with the assembly of participants at 7.00 AM at Flag Point, followed by the flag-off of the Padyatra at 7.30 AM. The programme will be graced by the Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, as the Chief Guest.
The approved route of the Padyatra shall be as follows:
Flag Point → South Point → RKM Junction → Girls’ School Junction → Narayan Chowk → Clock Tower (Turn) → Culmination at Cellular Jail, Veer Savarkar Park.
Around 500 youth volunteers, including MY Bharat and NSS volunteers from Higher Educational Institutions, are expected to participate in the programme. Special emphasis is being laid on the participation of first-time voters, who represent a significant and dynamic segment of the electorate.
As part of the voter awareness campaign, all participants will carry and display voter awareness slogans on placards throughout the Padyatra. A Slogan Writing Competition will also be organised, and the best three slogans will be awarded with trophies and certificates, as per the prescribed guidelines.
The programme will further include voter awareness messaging, pledge-taking ceremony, recognition of first-time voters, and interaction with youth volunteers.
In order to facilitate registration of new voters and updation of electoral details, voter facilitation and awareness support will be provided during the programme in coordination with the election machinery. Eligible youth, particularly first-time voters, will be encouraged to enrol themselves in the electoral roll, verify and correct their details, and obtain information regarding the voter registration process.

“MY Bharat – My Vote”
Citizens of Sri Vijaya Puram and across the Andaman and Nicobar Islands UT, especially youth and first-time voters, are warmly invited to participate in the National Voters’ Day Padyatra and contribute towards building a strong, inclusive and participative democratic society.
