Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan 21: The District Level Sports Meet 2025 was successfully organised on 21st Jan at the Stadium of Jawaharlal Nehru Rajyakiya Mahavidyalaya, Sri Vijaya Puram, under the banner of MY Bharat, Sri Vijaya Puram, and coordinated by Andaman Mahila Mandal. The meet brought together the winners of the Block Level Sports Meets from Little Andaman, Ferrargunj and Prothrapur Blocks, providing a competitive platform at the district level.
The competitions featured group events including Volleyball (Men) and Tug of War (Women), along with individual events such as the 100 Metres Run for Men and Women and Table Tennis Singles for both Men and Women categories. The participation of block-level winners ensured a high standard of competition and vibrant sporting spirit throughout the meet.
On the occasion, Naresh Chandra Lall, Padma Shri Awardee and Swachhata Ambassador, graced the programme as the Chief Guest. Addressing the youth, he urged them to recognise and showcase their potential with an aim to progress to the National level. He also strongly appealed to the youth to stay away from drugs and adopt a healthy, disciplined lifestyle through sports and physical fitness.
Sukha Ranjan Biswas, Joint Director, MY Bharat, welcomed the Chief Guest and highlighted the aims and objectives of the District Level Sports Meet, emphasising the role of sports in nurturing discipline, teamwork and positive engagement among the youth. The event received official support from Vinod Kumar Sharma and Sunita Patil, while Gopal Ch. Biswas of MY Bharat coordinated the entire programme, contributing significantly to the grand success of the event.
