Port Blair, May 17: The residents of Austin IV and Borang met The PCC President Kuldeep Rai Sharma during his tour to Middle and North Andaman and requested him to visit their villages and showed that how badly they need But Stands.
Accordingly Sharma had been to their places which are situated in dense forests and was shocked to see their pathetic condition and agreed that their demand for a bus stop at their respective placed need to be fulfilled.
On this issue, Sharma has now written a letter to the Deputy Commissioner, Middle and North Andaman stating that the villages of Austin IV and Borang which are very old encroachments and allotted lands, are on ATR Road under Forest cover. To reach to Bus stand people have to cross a path covered with Jungle and after reaching to their destination, these villagers have to wait for their bus either under scorching sunlit or heavy shower. He said that for elderly person, womenfolk, children and ailing persons this becomes very troublesome.
Hence Sharma has requested the DC to consider construction of proper bus stoppages at Austin IV and Borang as a welfare measure.
