Sri Vijaya Puram, Dec. 24: The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Andaman & Nicobar Islands organized a Legal Awareness Programme today at the Calicut Gram Panchayat Hall, in association with PRAYAS JAC.
The programme was graced by Shri Neyaz Alam, Learned Additional District Judge, who presided over the event. Shri Jayanta Mukherjee, Learned Judicial Magistrate First Class (2nd Court), Port Blair, addressed the gathering on Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 (POSH Act), elaborating upon its key provisions and the procedure for filing complaints before the Local Committee.
Shri Jayanta Mukherjee, Principal Magistrate, sensitized the participants on issues relating to civil disputes, domestic violence, litigation procedures, and highlighted the role and functions of the Legal Services Authorities in providing access to justice.
The programme was attended by Shri T. Yaghambaram, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat Calicut, along with members of the public. The session was coordinated by Ms. Maria Sheela, Regional Head, PRAYAS JAC. Shri K. Vijay Kumar, Advisor, PRAYAS JAC was also present.
The programme witnessed active participation and interaction from the attendees, contributing to enhanced legal awareness at the grassroots level.
