I extend my warm greetings on the occasion of National Consumer Day. This year’s theme, “Efficient and Speedy Disposal through Digital Justice,” aptly reflects the nation’s commitment to a transparent, responsive and technology-driven justice delivery system.
As India advances steadily along the path of digital transformation, ensuring the timely and effective resolution of consumer disputes has assumed paramount importance. The integration of digital justice mechanisms-such as e-filing, virtual hearings, online submission of documents and real-time case tracking-has significantly strengthened the consumer grievance redressal framework and enhanced access to justice.
On this occasion, we reaffirm our unwavering commitment to the protection of consumer rights and the promotion of a fair, transparent and accountable marketplace. Consumers form the backbone of economic growth and their interests must be safeguarded against unfair trade practices, misleading information and exploitation. Through sustained institutional reforms and proactive governance, we endeavour to ensure timely and accessible justice, empower consumers, uphold their dignity and reinforce public confidence in systems established to protect their rights and welfare.
Let us collectively resolve to embrace technology-driven solutions that bring justice closer to the people-swift, accessible and equitable. A digitaly empowered consumers justice system remains a cornerstone of good governance and a vital step toward building a fair, inclusive and consumer centric society.
