Sri Vijaya Puram, Dec 22: The Electoral Registration Officer of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands Parliamentary Constituency has issued a public notice announcing the publication of the draft electoral roll in accordance with the Registration of Electors Rules, 1960. The draft roll has been prepared with the qualifying date fixed as January 1, 2026.
According to the notice, a copy of the draft electoral roll is available for public inspection during office hours at the office of the Electoral Registration Officer, as well as with all designated officers at designated polling stations across the constituency. Electors have been urged to verify their names and particulars carefully.
The notice further states that any claim for inclusion of a name in the electoral roll, objection to the inclusion of any name, or objection to particulars in any existing entry with reference to the qualifying date may be submitted on or before January 22, 2026. Such claims or objections must be filed using the prescribed Forms 6, 6A, 7, or 8, as applicable.
Electors may submit their claims or objections through the designated officers or booth level officers at polling stations, or send them by post to the Electoral Registration Officer or the concerned Assistant Electoral Registration Officer. Submissions may also be made through the Voter Helpline mobile application or the official online portal of the Election Commission.
The notice also clarifies that eligible citizens who will attain the age of eighteen years on April 1, July 1, or October 1, 2026, may file advance claims for inclusion of their names in the electoral roll using Form 6. These claims will be examined and decided in the respective quarter of the year with reference to the relevant qualifying date.
