
Sri Vijaya Puram, Dec 07: The Thiruvalluvar Youth Club, Diglipur, in association with the Deputy Education Office, Diglipur, organized a significant Awareness Rally on Drug-Free Society aimed at educating students and the community about the harmful effects of drug abuse and promoting a healthier future for youth on 6th December, 2025 from Vivekananda Stadium Diglipur to Main Bazaar and return.
At the inaugural stage, Mr. S. Shanmugam, President, Thiruvalluvar Youth Club, delivered the Welcome Address, extending gratitude to the students, teachers, officials, and community members for their active participation and support.
The rally was flagged off by Mrs. Sulochana Devi, Deputy Education Officer (DEO), Diglipur. Her motivating words strengthened the purpose of the initiative a large. The event was also graced by distinguished Guests of Honour Mr. Vijay Kumar, SHO, Diglipur and Mr. Elanzhian, Up Pradhan, Subash Gram, Panchayat.
More than 100 school students participated in the rally, carrying banners and chanting anti-drug slogans such as “Say No to Drugs” and “Healthy Youth, Drug-Free Future.” Local community members also came forward to support the noble cause. Further, The Thiruvalluvar Youth Club announced that similar awareness programs will continue in the future to strengthen community engagement and promote a drug-free society.
At the concluding session, Mr. Vadivel, Secretary, Thiruvalluvar Youth Club, delivered the Vote of Thanks, acknowledging the cooperation of schools, volunteers, dignitaries, and the local administration for making the rally a success.
