
Sri Vijaya Puram, Dec 01: CRC Andaman & Nicobar Islands conducted a Special Art and Theatre Workshop as part of its three-day series of programmes for World Disability Day 2025. The event was graced by Mr. Ravinder, Director, Directorate of Social Welfare, A&N Administration, along with Ms. Sumithamol (Director, CRC A&N Islands), Ms. Komal Anand President, Pankh NGO, Mr. Kuldeep Lawyer and Social Activis), and Dr. Ankita. This initiative beautifully aligns with the World Disability Day 2025 theme: “Fostering Disability-Inclusive Societies for Advancing Social Progress.”
The programme began with a welcome address by Ms. Sumithamol, who warmly greeted the parents, children, guests, and resource persons. She highlighted the importance of celebrating the abilities and creativity of children with disabilities, encouraged parent–child participation, and emphasized how workshops like these foster confidence, self-expression, and inclusive growth.
The workshop was then led by talented resource persons Mr. Dheeraj Khandelwal Poet and Artist, Ms. Pooja Khandelwal Theatre Artist, and Mr. Kanak Sheghawat, Theatre Artist. They conducted lively sessions filled with creative art, theatre activities, role-play, storytelling, and expressive movements. The children were full of laughter, enjoyment, and excitement, and the hall was alive with moments where children burst out in joy, expressing themselves freely and confidently.
CRC A&N Islands sincerely thank Ms. Komal Anand, President of Pankh NGO, Sri Vijaya Puram, for generously supporting the programme by providing art materials and refreshments for the divyangjan, making the workshop fun, engaging, and enjoyable for all participants.
This programme marked the first day of CRC’s inclusive series for World Disability Day, creating a warm, joyful, and empowering environment that celebrated the creativity, happiness, and potential of persons with disabilities.
